Anime Awards Best Girl 2016

Anime Awards Best Girl 2016

From the very first episode, Erased was an emotional roller coaster that didn’t slow down. Every episode was packed with mysteries and revelations that kept us guessing and left us on the edge of our seat as the story jumped between two timelines, weaving together a fascinating tale of redemption and friendship.

Your votes have been counted, and the People's Choice winner for Best Anime Series 2016 is Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World. Thanks for voting!

Anime

Flip Flappers is a colorful demonstration of just how imaginative and wonderful anime can be. It mixes magical girls with Dragon Ball Z-level action and creative worlds (like a desert dystopia reminiscent of Mad Max) to take viewers on a heartfelt adventure of friendship.

Your Name. (2016)

With the new revitalized Karasuno volleyball team, determined protagonist Shoyo Hinata and the gang set their sights on the spring tournament by improving each of their skills in camp and on the court. Season 2 and 3 of Haikyu!!! do an amazing job of balancing the competitive tension of high stake sports games with the multitude of characters that are every bit as important as their star players.

Diamond is Unbreakable is the fourth part of the popular JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series that follows the life of delinquent high school student, Josuke Higashikata, and his bizarre experience in his peaceful hometown. With the sudden meeting of a distant relative, he begins to notice individuals with strange powers or “stands.” The rise of “stand” users takes Josuke and his friends into a world of crazy magical action and ridiculously awesome poses.

One Punch Man creator's second manga-turned-anime, Mob Psycho 100, is a whirlwind of extreme facial expressions paired with intense action. Its unique art style is captivating, but the heart of the show is in the growth of each characters as they learn how to rely on their friends and mentors to become better people.

A Year In Anime: 2016 Awards

Iron-Blooded Orphans is a brutal standalone Mobile Suit Gundam story that shows a darker side of war as we follow the lives of child workers turned soldiers. The politics in the Gundam universe are always prominent, but the growth and relationships surrounding the ragtag group of Tekkadan in season 1 makes for an engaging and exciting rise to power.

Gag-manga-turned-anime Mr. Osomatsu follows a set of sextuplets with distinct personalities, slowly developing them through a series of one-off jokes and cute vettes. Despite its focus on comedy, Mr. Osomatsu can get sweet, heartfelt, and even sad, and the love it shows toward its characters helps the comedy stand out from simple gags.

Starring a mossy-haired boy with a small body and a big heart, My Hero Academia features lots of fun, frenzied action, a quirky cast of heroic misfits, and a colorful Silver Age Comics art style. But the show's real superpower is the adorable teacher-student bond between the protagonist Izuku Midoriya and his mentor All Might. Plus, the show has bellybutton lasers and a super cool frog girl.

Protagonist Subaru Natsuki's unique ability to return to life after death gives this anime a unique chance for growth and destruction, and though the otaku in a fantasy world trope has been done many, many times, this works very well. Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World stands out thanks to its narrative focus on pain, consequence, and building up to truly heartfelt moments.

Though a lot of the (justified) excitement around sports anime Yuri!!! On Ice is focused on its incredible character relationships, this phenomenal anime doesn't put anything on the backburner. Yuri!!! On Ice wonderfully depicts and respects figure skating through beautiful performances and homages to the real competitive scene all while developing genuine relationships and rivalries that won't be forgotten.Crunchyroll is excited to announce its first ever Anime Awards! We’re taking a look back at the best shows, characters and moments from the anime we watched and loved in 2016, and we want YOU, the passionate anime community, to join us!

I just found out this is a real thing and I'm totally thrilled about it! There are so many categories and amazing shows that have been nominated. Voting doesn't start until Januari 3rd, so I'm encouraging everyone to visit Crunchyroll for more information and to check out their amazing anime awards!

Best Sountrack & Theme Song [newtype Anime Awards]

Which anime do you want to win in which category? Does anyone else feel that there could have been a bit more diversity amongst the nominations? I do....

Not gonna bother with that, cant take them seriously after i've seen their ''Best Animation'' nominations of the year. I mean, they have Mob Psycho 100, Flip Flappers and Kabaneri but .. they fucking put Yuri on Ice in it when there's others anime that looks better and been more consistant than this. (Like Kiznaiver, Hibike (or even Phantom World), Tales of Zestiria (even if i hated it), Haikyuu and etc)

-

Cool initiative but yeah it's pretty pointless when you can only choose between 4 options per category. It should just be free text. Plus it's all just the most popular shows nominated as usual, making it not much more than a farce

Anime Awards 2016

I'm really hoping that ERASED, KonoSuba (Goddammit, KonoSuba wasn't on the list but I'm going to vote for it as the Best Comedy of the Year), Re:Zero, or Yuri!! on Ice (I haven't watched that anime but my friend was so amazed by it. He urges me every week to watch that anime, which I will soon) wins. Maybe put Hibike Euphonium 2 in there too?

For Best Girl, I hope to god that Rem will win because she is truly the best girl of this year. If she doesn't win, I'll go to Crunchyroll's building and I'll flip all of their tables. I'll also unsubscribe to their service I'm joking, of course

For Best Fight Scene, that has to go to Tales of Zestiria the X. Ufotable makes A-1 Picture's fight scene look dirt cheap and something that an amateur did. Ok, I'll definitely vote for Mumei vs Kabane fight scene that scene was pretty sick.

Where Does The Doomsday Train Go? Anime Announced, Key Visual Revealed

For Best OP, I'll either vote for Yuri on Ice or Kabaneri. It's really hard to choose because they both sound god-like.

Out of all the stupid things I found in each category, that was the one that legit triggered me. How Production Issues!!! on Ice could be nominated in this category of all things, much less over series like Hibikek or even Phantom World is beyond me. Don't get me wrong, I like the show and it's nice to have ambition and passion, but ambition alone won't make the performances look any less stiff and terribly off-model.

Best

That would be a serious insult to the actual sakuga shows of the year (a.k.a Flip Flappers and Mob Psycho) if it won this particular award.

Awards And Nominations

This is going to be worse than the cringy game awards; what's even worse, there's only one person that's in the industry.

On top all this, most anime fans don't know jackshit about cinematography and screenwriting, nor have the appreciation for something that has good cinematography and screenwriting.

I'd take the Academy Wards any day of the year than this stinky pie, which will probably an insult to those being in the industry, and if it becomes larger, sadly promote bad things.

Anime Awards 2016!

I remember looking at this and noticing that almost every category has Yuri on Ice, Kabanari, Erased, or Mob Psycho 100, if not every single one of them

I feel like there are only 6 or 7 anime being nominated for anything total, and like, i get it if they're limiting it to stuff they streamed, but...still, I think they streamed more than just those things.

Winners

Probably elsewhere, at least. For me it might as well have only been 6 or 7 things due to licensing stuffs :V Don't know why I even keep a CR account when I can watch practically nothing on there. Probably just to avoid feeling guilty over mostly using kissanime, but still ._.

Best Anime Shows From 2010 To 2022

Best Anime of the year is Erased IMO. I also bet my life savings that everyone will vote for Rem as best girl.

Aren't all the shows they put on here ones that CR actually had licenced anyway? Of course the sample size will be biased af in that case. Basically just a marketing ploy

How Megumin isn't one of the best girl nominees is beyond me though, because evidentially KonoSuba was nominated for another award so there's no excuse really

Kaguya Sama: Love Is War Victorious In Winter 2019 Anime Awards

My money is on Re:Zero being AotY. Not that I think it should be, just that it will be given its popularity.

All Crunchyroll did was go on about Yuri on ice like wow you know not everyone that watches anime likes yaoi infact compared to the bigger anime that aired this year it doesnt stand a chance imo and if u see those lists most of it includes yuri on ice being nominated and other better anime not.

Some

Pretty pointless when they only have small amount of nominees for each category, and shows that CR marketed heavily appear in so many of the categories, and it looks like only shows that CR have licensed appear as nominees, regardless
